Sinopse

In 1997, Tiger Woods was already among the most watched and closely examined athletes in history. But it wasn't until the Masters Tournament that Tiger Woods's career would definitively change forever. Tiger Woods, then only 21, won the Masters by a historic 12 shots, which remains the widest margin of victory in the tournament's history, making it arguably among the most seminal events in golf. He was the first African-American/Asian player to win the Masters, and this at the Augusta National Golf Club, perhaps the most exclusive club in the world, and one that had in 1990 admitted its first black member.

Now, twenty years later, Woods will explore his history with the game, the Masters tournament itself, how golf has changed over the last 20 years, and what it was like winning such an event. Woods will also open up about his relationship with father Earl Woods, dispelling previous misconceptions, and will candidly reveal many never-before-heard stories.

Written by one of the game's all-time greats, this book will provide keen insight on the Masters then and now, as well as on the sport itself.

FROM THE BACK COVER

Leading up to the 1997 Masters Tournament, twenty-one-year-old Tiger Woods was already one of the world's most scrutinised and talked-about professional athletes, yet his electrifying win and historic margin of victory stunned the golf world and instantly catapulted him to superstardom. To mark the twentieth anniversary of this now iconic moment in sports history, Tiger Woods reflects for the first time on his record-setting win, and how it changed his life-and the game of golf-forever.

This riveting, insightful book chronicles Tiger's lifelong physical and mental preparation for the tournament, his transition from amateur to professional status, and the gripping shot-by-shot details of how he turned a tough first round into a Masters win for the ages. Woods contemplates the invaluable guidance he has received over the years from his parents, as well as the advice offered by fellow golf pros and legends. He also talks candidly about his relationship with the media, and he examines the sweeping changes that have been made to the game and what they mean for the future of golf.

Filled with incredible, never-before-seen photos, UNPRECEDENTED is both a meticulous reconstruction of one of golf's greatest-ever performances and a rare look behind the curtain of fame at the hard work and dedication that positioned Tiger Woods to make sports history.
