• Hobbit

Bilbo Baggins lives a simple life with his fellow hobbits in the shire, until the wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) arrives and convinces him to join a group of dwarves on a quest to reclaim the kingdom of Erebor. The journey takes Bilbo on a path through treacherous lands swarming with orcs, goblins and other dangers, not the least of which is an encounter with Gollum (Andy Serkis) and a simple gold ring that is tied to the fate of Middle Earth in ways Bilbo cannot even fathom.

• The Fellowship of the Ring:

  Frodo inherits the One Ring from his uncle Bilbo and, with the help of a fellowship of diverse companions, embarks on a journey to the Cracks of Doom, the only place the Ring can be destroyed. 

• The Two Towers:

  The fellowship splits, and Frodo and Sam continue their journey towards Mordor, guided by Gollum, a creature obsessed with the Ring. Meanwhile, the forces of good and evil clash in a series of battles, culminating in the fall of the fortress at Isengard. 

• The Return of the King:

  Frodo and Sam reach Mordor, but Gollum's influence leads them to an unforeseen outcome, ultimately destroying the Ring. The armies of Middle-earth unite in a final, desperate war against Sauron, and the Ring is destroyed, ushering in a new era of peace.
